Ethics & Character Education for the Middle Grades with Social Studies, Language Arts & Conflict Resolution
|
Heartwood Institute has expanded its read-aloud literature-based program to bring inspiring stories of heroism and moral leadership to the middle grades. T.R.U.E. choices helps students grapple with tough decisions and apply ethical principals in real situations, preparing them for global citizenship through thoughtful, reflective classroom discussions. This flexible and easy-to-use program may be integrated into language arts, social studies, health, guidance, homeroom, and other settings. The basics of the thematic units can be presented in 1-2 periods a week, and rich menus of suggested activities and extensions support more intensive implementation across the curriculum. Two Large Group Event packets promote whole school programs, kicking off with a Hero Assembly that introduces your students to a live recipient of the Carnegie Hero Award, a real person who has answered an unexpected call to extraordinary action. Inspire your students to become leaders and develop the strength of character needed to face adversity and change. Build character while supporting social studies & academic achievement:
